Make the Most of Your Money and Get a Next-Level Clean

Hiring a cleaner is a game changer less stress, more sparkle, and more time for you. But did you know a few simple steps before your cleaner arrives can maximize the quality of the clean and help you get the best value for your money?

Here are 10 things you can do to prepare your home so your cleaner can work more efficiently and effectively making every dollar count.

1. Tidy Up Personal Items (Clothes, Toys, Dishes)

Why:
Cleaners focus on actual cleaning not organising your belongings. By decluttering floors and surfaces, your cleaner can spend more time disinfecting, scrubbing, and polishing instead of moving things around.

2. Empty your dishwasher if you want it loaded

Why:
If part of your service includes a kitchen reset and you would like that mountain of dishes from breakfast or last nights dinner to magically disappear. This step allows our cleaners to quickly load up the dishwasher and continue with our usual clean. It also means that our cleaner’s don’t put your dishes and utensils in the wrong spot, losing your beloved tongs to the wrong drawer. *Disclaimer: if the dishwasher is full of dishes we will skip this step, depending on the amount of dishes needing a clean.

3. Secure Pets or Let Us Know About Them

Why:
Even the friendliest pets can get nervous around vacuums or strangers. Keep pets safely contained, or give us a heads up if they’ll be home and what areas they will be in. This helps to keep them calm and keeps your cleaner focused.

4. Let Us Know Any “Hot Spots”

Why:
Have a mouldy shower, a sticky floor, or a mystery smell in the fridge? Let your cleaner know beforehand so they can prioritise problem areas and bring the right tools or products.

5. Move all of the shoes and floor clutter up or out of the way

Why:
This allows our cleaners to get straight into the service without having to move every pair of shoes, dog toys, kids toys etc individually.

6. Make sure your bathroom is dry

Why:
This means that we are able to vacuum the bathroom before we clean it, and having a wet bathroom adds time to your service. It allows us to properly remove all of the hair and dust that likes to linger in the bathroom.

7. Strip the Beds (If Linen Changing is Included)

Why:
It saves time and helps us stay on schedule. If linen changing is part of your service, leave fresh sheets on the bed or giving us clear instructions on where the linen is kept, so it’s easy to swap out.

8. Make sure that we have clear access in and out

Why:
If you have specific requests or “don’t touch” zones, letting your cleaner know helps avoid confusion. Clear communication helps your cleaner tailor the clean to your priorities. This also includes providing access to the property, such as opening driveway gates, as well as getting into the home. This allows our cleaners to get in and out with all of our gear easily.

9. Put Precious items away such as Jewellery

Why:
We take care with every item, but accidents happen. Stowing fragile or sentimental items keeps them safe and gives you peace of mind during the clean. Our vacuums are just too good!

10. Give Feedback (Before or After)

Why:
Letting your cleaner know what matters most to you helps build a great ongoing relationship. Whether it’s loving shiny taps or preferring a certain scent we want to get it right for you!
